Ballast water-
Canals-
Boaters- If you don't wash your boat every single time you go out and you change where you go boating, the micro-organisms that attach to your boat can reproduce and live in another place that its not supposed to
Importation through the mail- Banana spiders and other pests can live in boxes and can be sent through the mail
Pet release- people will buy pets when they are little and cute, but later realize that they grow and they aren't cute and they release them into the wild
Aquaculture- sometimes fish that are just there to eat poopoo and they escape into wild rivers
Intentional Introductions- Introduced by scientists to decrease the population of native and non-native species. Introduced for sport or aesthetic value.

Pink Hibiscus Mealybug- Maconellicoccous hirsutus- "Pink Power"
You can identify the pest by it's white stripes, pink-ish body, and small size. Its destroys many crops and ornamental plants. This pest is from Asia and we believe that the "Pink Lady" entered by accident with imported goods or passenger luggage. They have not been seen in the past year, but still keep your eye out for it!
